Confluence : Samagam – Language Series 2 (Telugu)
High Commission of India Kuala Lumpur with the support of Telugu Association of Malaysia has organised a plenary session on ‘Preserving & Propagating Telugu Language in Malaysia’ as part of the 2nd ‘Confluence: Samagam – Language Series’ on 25th May 2024 at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Brickfields. The event was also participated by H.E. Sri B.N. Reddy (High Commissioner of India to Malaysia) and guest of honors, YB Ganabatirau (Member of Parliament Klang), Datuk Sahadevan (Managing Director of NLFCS) and Datuk Dr Achaiah Kumar Rao (TAM Advisor). The plenary session started with the speeches from the guest of honours and continued with the presentation on ‘Telugu Diaspora in Malaysia’ by Sri Dr Vengkata Prathap (TAM President), ‘Milestones in the Telugu Language Preservation and Propagation in the 20th Century’ by Sri Appanna A Naidu, ‘Preservation of Telugu Language in Pre-Independence Period in Malaysia’ by Sri Atchutha Ramaiah, ‘Establishment of Telugu Schools and related challenges’ by Sri Ramulu Sannasi, ‘Efforts of Telugu Academy of Malaysia in preserving and propagating Telugu Language’ by Sri Appalanaidu Akiah, ‘Rural-Urban Migration of Telugus and the Preservation and Propagation of Telugu Language from 1960s to 2000’ by Sri Subramaniam Ramasamy and ‘Role of women in preserving and propagating Telugu Language’ by Dr Malini Ramanan and experience sharing by Telugu Students.
